Im swapping a nv4500 to a np208 into my truck, problem occurs when I put gear oil into the nv4500, the back of the trans bolts to the np208 which takes ATF. I have to assume they will mix fluid which would be bad

any ideas how to get around this

there should be a seal or two between them to keep the fluid from intermixing. even on set ups that use the same fluid there is a seal or two. highdesertranger

yeah there is a seal on the transmission and then one on the transfer case i believe..also just curious but what NV4500 do you have the LD or HD version?? im asking because they have different bell housing bolt patterns..also might need different trans to T case adaptor.. im just kinda throwing stuff out there you just said that you were swapping it idk if you already have or not. also GM and Dodge input shafts are different and output spline count are different too.. im assuming you have a NV4500HD with a 23 spline count output shaft and dodge NP208 which accepts the 23 spline count..

I have a dodge case, which I think is a HD and I had it built with a chevy 32spline output
