Circled. Keep on mind this is for a '89 Suburban. Don't know if they are different over years or models or not. Don't know about that one loose connector you got. I will look around.

Do you have brake lights? Yo9u try wiggling the turn signal? Check that fuse first.

You fix it? 30 amp seems a little high to me. Is that what it had in it?

Mine is labeled for a 15 amp and I pull a trailer every day so even with the added load it's fine with that. Now I am curious as to why the fuse blew in the first place, and a 30 amp to boot. Yikes. You been having any issues with the lights? Sometimes people wire in a trailer harness half assed and that leads to problems, usually the first thing to look for.

Here is a good way to find a short to ground:

Make up a test horn. Unhook your battery. Take 2 lengths (maybe 3 feet long to make it easy to rest the horn down somewhere) of wire - actually zipcord works fine. Attach one end of one wire to the normal male spade connector on the horn and the other wire clean spot on the horn casing. Take the other two ends of the wires and jump across the fuse holder.

Hook your battery back up and if the circuit is grounded the horn will blow. If it isn't sounding off, walk around the truck and wiggle wires in the obvious places. Keep wiggling the harness and eventually you'll find the general vicinity of the dead ground. Start at the back under the LH fender where the wiring seperates to both sides then do the front directionals and the marker lights.

You can substitute a lamp for a horn if your neighbors get annoyed - but that method works best at night. Plus the horn is more fun.

BTW- take look the wiring to your back-up light switch, that circuit is protected by the same fuse.

I have had the same problem on two different trucks. One truck was shorting out through the reverse light switch wire which was damaged from a tranny swap. The second truck was blowing fuses due to aged/coroded trailer wiring from the tail lights to the plug on the bumper.

When the TS fuse blows, does your brake lights still work?
It seems to me the short is in the switch or or the front end. If the short is in the tail section, The brake light fuse would be blowing too because both brake and turn signal use the same wire, the function is based on the position of the TS switch.
Good thing to check would be the light pigtails in the grill, and wouldn't hurt to check the reverse wiring, maybe try unplugging the reverse switch for giggles.
Good luck!
