Hey there,

Not new to forums at all, but new here. I may be looking into an 80s K10 here soon, so I wanted to get some answers. Look forward to learning more here!

Few questions real quick:

What type of brakes are factory? Drum, disk or disk front/drum rear?

Anything to be mindful of when looking at a truck? Typical rust spots, problems, etc. It seems the rockers and bed are big rust areas from what I've seen.

Welcome aboard!

The 73-87s come with factory front disc brakes and drums on the rear. The most critical rust spots to check are where your feet sit where the cab meets the floor and the cab supports underneath. After that it would be the frame where the crossmembers attach to the frame

Thanks for the welcome and info, MadOgre! I thought that's how the brake setup was, but was having trouble confirming. Will keep an eye out for rust and get some pics from the owner.
