Been reading here for about four months. I have a ‘79 short wide Silverado. Putting 3.73 gears and Detroit TruTrac in it this weekend. Housing is gutted and cleaned with new parts and tools on the tailgate. I’m also building a 406 with a fairly snotty hydraulic roller cam and 10.3 compression. Parts are pricey so it will probably be done in 2022. Not a daily driver and I’m having a blast with it. Also looking for a bed.

My friend Charlie came over today and we got the ring gear, pinion, and diff mocked up for a test spin. I’m gonna move the ring gear towards the driver’s side some tomorrow.
