This is a new GM crate engine that must have come out recently. Most of the vendors show it for about $3300 if you search for the parts number, but I've had trouble finding it when I just search for GM crate engines.

Its a little higher priced than I expected, since it seems to be based on the L31 crate engine, but it looks like a great replacement for pre-76 vehicles.
You get Vortec heads, a good roller cam, support for mechanical fuel pump , a flex plate for the 1 piece rear seal block, and an 8" balancer. It also has a 2 year/50k miles GM warranty.
