My soon-to-be new ride is a time capsule with 2,600 miles that has been sitting in a barn for the past 36 years. I can’t wait to get her out on the road again where she belongs. I’m grateful for this forum and I hope to meet other enthusiasts who know a thing or two about working on a truck that has been sitting for so long.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the compliments, everyone. Yes, those are the original miles and the original tires. Only things new are the gas tanks. Since old gas ruined the original tanks, I’m wondering what else was damaged by old fluids.

The engine runs, but I’m not sure whether it makes more sense to clean and rebuild it first before driving regularly. Not sure if things are gummed up inside and would cause damage.
