454 shroud is different than 305/350 shroud.

Here's the latest on my saga: Picked up the taller radiator from O'Reilly's and then ordered a pair of fan shrouds for 305-350 from Classic Industries. Turns out they are designed to fit a 17" x 28-1/4" radiator like the one I returned. :whymewhyme: Sure am glad I bought the radiator(s) locally. But the store is probably not!

Guess I could try a 454 shroud with my taller radiator, but there's no guarantee it would work, and then I'd have to return my current shrouds.

I never had any issues like this with my 69 C10. Those radiators may have all the same size, at least width x height. With 81-87, it's a crap shoot if you have no existing parts to measure.

Once I pick up the 17" tall radiator, I'll try to find the radiator top cover, or whatever it's called. Haven't seen it listed at any truck parts vendors. In fact, it may not even be used with a 17" tall radiator.

I will take some pictures of my stuff tonight for you so you can see what I have for a setup.

OK. Here's my 17 x 28.5" (core size) radiator with the aftermarket 2-piece shroud I bought. I have some heavy duty metal clips to hold top and bottom halves together, and will come up with something like L-brackets to secure the bottom half to the core support. Looks like an 18" clutch fan will fit smack dab in the middle of the 20" circle, and protrude 2/3 in and 1/3 out. Didn't have to trim a thing! I'm happy.
