Just dropped a 350 in my C10 that had a 250 six. The fan sits back a lot farther, so I will need a new radiator shroud. Any suggestions or actual part numbers that have worked for you?

BTW, I really like my new Murray #433840 radiator. it has an aluminum core for what I expect is much improved heat dissipation vs copper/brass.

Pickup a 4x4 shroud off a truck. Its really deep and shouldn't be much to bolt it up.

The shroud on my 4x4 burb measures 10" deep overall with the fan blades half in-half out. Might give you an idea if something like it will work.

I might be mistaken here but in that pic it shows a strait 6 radiator and top mounting brackets. a v-8 shroud will not fit that. a v-8 radiator goes almost to the top of the core support and so does the shroud. highdesertranger

Well, that sucks. LMC and other sources show 4 different radiators for 305-350, and two of them are 17" tall, like the one I bought. They also show one that's 19" and another at 20-5/8". So, I wonder which of the taller ones will work with a V-8 shroud. ???

Yep went and checked mine and yes it sits just a hair lower than the rad support and the mounting bracket fits over top the rad support and bolts on the front side not the inside

looks like you are stuck with LMC #32-2831 1pc shroud for a 250 292 because that's the rad you have.

Either change the rad

Or scour the wrecking yards for one that fits but is also deep since 77-87 305s used the same 17" rad

Or get a rad and shroud from the wreckers

Or buy the one from LMC and build your own extended shroud ring (although Im not sure if the fan will sit in the same place as the straight 6, it probably does though)

Or go electric fans and buy or build your own custom electric fan shroud

I bought the radiator from a local parts store, so no problem taking it back. I'll do that today, and then check some junkyards for shrouds and upper brackets after the ground dries out . (Record rainfalls here in May, and 6-8" last night in some places.)

After doing some web browsing this morning, I'm pretty sure what I need is the 19" tall radiator, which I can also get locally.

Keep the comments coming!

I used the shroud that came on my truck. Its a one piece 4x4 shroud. You will need a top plate too.
