So back in September I bought my 1985 Chevy K10.
It was listed as having a "new engine," I could tell it
wasn't new but likely "rebuilt."
Now after finding oil leaks, it running underpowered,
and a few other things I decided to take it to a mechanic
to get it checked out.
Mechanic comes back with "This thing runs like ****."
I have 4 dead cylinders. F O U R. Great. They say
to fix it it will cost $6K. Or they can install a new
engine for around $2K.
Now what?! I just payed the truck off and now I
find it's a pile of ****. Anyone have a good resource
on Crate engines? Anyone know a place in MN that
can install an engine cheaper than these guys?
I'd like to canibalize anything I can from my truck
to make an engine swap more affordable.
Thanks for any advice.
