Assembling my steering and suspension back together and noticed these two washers which I mistakenly did not label. Not sure if they are a big deal at all but my OCD will not let it go. I have checked through all the photos I took during disassembly and cannot find out where they came from. I know they are not from the control arm shafts as I did not disassemble them. Yall have any idea where these could have come from? Lower ball joint mount to spindle? Somewere on the steering system? Thanks for the help.

Matthew

Could be lower ball joint, but I am thinking they are the washers for the shock studs. Hopefully somebody will chime in with other ideas.

They do look like they might have been shocks but definitely not a factory washer.
Also look at the wear marks.

They are a larger diameter and thickness than my shocks' washers. I am thinking lower ball joint as well because the wear marks kinda line up. It is hard to tell with the photos taken before disassembly since everything is covered in dirt and grease. Also it seems like others do not have washers when watching videos. I know my upper ball joint did not have a washer. On the cleaned spindle there is a wear mark where the bolt was tightened so I doubt it was that. Does this washer even matter or should I just move on?

It's never good to have left over parts. You need to find out where these go and install them in their proper place.

I still think they are the washers that go between the rear shock studs and the frame. The nut for those studs on the inside of the frame are big from what I recall, I think they take a 7/8 or bigger wrench/socket.

This is a pic my lower ball joint. Definitely a hefty washer in between the lower portion of the spindle and the castle nut.

That looks about the exact thickness of the one i'm holding too
And the ones you show have seen some torque applied to them. I bet we have found where they go.

I think you are right. I also checked the transmission mount washers for the th400. Same OD and thickness but the ID is much smaller.
