Yup, I believe that back in tje olden days, the 3/4 ton units run with the transmission mounted parking brake and four flange braking drum.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that would be for an open drum type brake with the external brake band. Not the shoe in drum type. The system could indeed stop the truck if the single line type, to all wheel master cylinder system failed. One plus was you could replace the band without removing the drive shaft. Disconnect it and spread it open to fit past the drive shaft.

This picture is not the correct band for that unit, but it will give the idea.

The part on the right side with the teeth is where the e brake handle attached.

Ahhh ok!!! So im still wondering is it a 465 or... 420?? Or.... not that i care cus its scrap but.
