Don’t know if you’re still reading this thread, but that’s a good way to go. Crate motors are enticing- you get the shiny name, the Christmas Day feeling of it arriving….and you buy what you want for your application.I actually found a builder that has a decent price and seems like he’s a pretty nice guy so for the price and the build specs it seems like a pretty good deal so in the next few weeks I’m going to get one of his builds.the only problem is which one to get again thinking of the transmission which I know is going to be the weak link then the rear end.
A local builder- you’re helping a local business, and if something goes sideways, you can walk into their office. That’s huge! Way better than calling a company from far away when you suspect something isn’t right.
As far as the Blueprint water pump not being able to run a mechanical- that’s madness on their part and poor part selection when a cast iron pump that you can do whatever you want for setup (and is way cheaper) is fine.
