I plan on swapping the valve covers on my 1986 High Sierra. The engine is the original 350. The drivers side valve cover has some sort of relay or module clipped to it with wires running to it. Just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is? I'd like to get some info so I can figure out where to relocate it.

I could likely figure it out after enough research but I figured someone on here probably knows exactly what it is. Any help is appreciated.

What options do you have?
I find it interesting that you have the drop down exhaust manifolds.

Not a lot. No cruise, or anything. Perhaps it's something to do with emission control? The truck is Canadian and did have an air pump and all that jazz.

Do you have a 700R4? without an ECM, it may be a lockup relay.
Could you clean it up a bit, and tell us what color the wires are?

If I get a chance to clean it up I will post the colors.

could still be lockup relay then even with a th350, since they had a 350c which was lockup.

honestly though just move it up to the firewall use a self tapping screw and mount it there, wires look long enough, then you can swap valve covers.

I dont think a 350c was available in 86...allthough, it is Canada.
