Modern steering box

does GM or others make a modern quicker steering box that will interchange
With a 87 r10 swb 2 wheel drive truck?

I’ve heard of people using a G Body Saginaw box to improve the ratio, but I’ve only done factory replacements of these so I can’t comment. Healthy steering parts and a Jeep XJ intermediate shaft/sector shaft go a long way in making them work well enough that they maintain your confidence.

There are built boxes and factory quick ratio upgrades depending on the budget.
AGR makes Steering Boxes and so does Lee's Power Steering.

Check out these guys. I installed their 69-up box in a 66 C10 and it was simply amazing. Quick ratio but a super nice on-center feel. Not at all twitchy.
