In case youre wondering;

Which i doubt you are

Here's the metri pak pins im using

And this fancy little thing here beats the pee out of any of them generic de pinning kits for these connectors.

Thanks for all the info Vince, as I still have a LQ4 with a 4l80e trans as an extra motor. If the BBC 489 isn't the s---, slap that in there along with a BW 475 sitting on the shelf all new like. Yeah if Perry can't use gum, bailing wire, and rubber bands, he prolly cant fix it.......
Finally convinced Jan to sell the Sun bug, of course now that it's ready to sell everything works perfect....

I don't work on foreds or morpers .......so no need for the gum or rubber bands.........you can ALWAYS use baling wire ;)

A LQ4 with a 475 would be pretty crazy! Biggest complaint is unless its a large A/R T4 , your bottom end response wont compare to the big block using a T6

Stroke that LQ4 and we have a different story haha

So I bought a Gen 4 knock sensor harness mistakenly thinking it was like a conversion harness for my Terminator

(The link was really long so I will attach a Pic and P/N)

Sorry, I know some of yall browse on desktop and screenshots can look crappy.

Anywho my Gen 3 terminator harness is 2 wire, and as it turns out the gen 4 stuff just carries a ground to the sensors.

I looked thru my wiring harness collection(s) and found an OEM 3 pin female that fit their connector, clipped the holley pin ends off, repinned for the 3 pin style, and now my harness will accept the harness... all I have to do is ground each sensor nearby where theyre mounted.

A TOTAL P.i.a. getting those properly crimped
Theyre up in the hole behind the blower kinda

I will likely heat wrap all of this stuff before installation. I definitely intend on getting the headers cherry hot once or twice acting a fool on the rev limiter

In other news, my express van PCM also came. Fittings for the intercooler reservoir, a flexible transmission dipstick (OEM was blocked by intake J)

Some loom and other goodies;

As i begin wiring up the couple accessories the holley will run.

-E fan

-Flex fuel sensor

-Bbv solenoid

-Tow haul switch on a bistable relay for alternate BBV pmw(-) map so when i press "tow haul" the stock ecm and trans switches to the "waste a chit ton of gas'' shift strategy, and terminator makes the BBV suddenly is closed 90% of of the time, meaning it mf LIVES in boost... the two ecms work in harmony this way.

-finally a 2-step switch

-later, a tone wheel and magnet on the driveshaft for traction control.

-also later, a second walbro 450 fuel pump.

Almost done with this wiring harness! You almost cant tell its been tampered with.

i mean lets be real its not a TikTok build but then again this is for me, not for views, lol

Little bit of cobbling and I made a nice place to mount my intercooler reservoir.

I also got the fluid pump mounted.

Currently it runs from supercharger to high side of reservoir, out of low side to pump, then pumps it thru intercooler, and then back to the supercharger.

We shall see how it works.

So over the past couple of days ive made some quick leaps.
I finished the intercooler system

Two pumps in the series.

Supercharger -> reservoir-> pump -> exchanger-> pump -> supercharger again

I laid out my "plan" for the input/output harness of the terminator.

I ended up actually making the 2 step much much simpler with no relay

The brake pedal supplies a ground when its depressed, so i went

Brake switch -> on/off switch with LED -> holley terminator .

So when i press this button in this hole,

it latches "on" so the one leg of the circuit is complete, and when i press the brake , the other leg is complete , so then the holley activates 2 step.

Simply let off the brake or press the button again, and I lose 2 step.

Now for the little red LED, and its relationship to this ballgame. Stay with me on the next post.

Ever heard of a bistable, single coil latching relay?

I hadnt. Until I googled, tbh.

You might be wondering why I hot glued a little microchip from amazon to my hvac ducting.

So when you press "tow haul" it sends a momentary ground to the pcm and transmission from the factory, switching their shifting pressure and shift strategies.

The issue is, the holley terminator doesnt like momentary input. Only solid, fixed input.

So I looked into bistable relays.

HOW I HAVE THIS SETUP goes like this >>>>

When i press "tow haul" , it still sends a momentary (-) to the transmission and my p59, which will stilll switch strategies.

But it also sends a momentary (-) to the bistable relay, which will "latch" a solid (-) or (+) of your choosing.

You activate the momentary ground again, it unlatches
The holley terminator sees that "latched" circuit, and what it will do with it is change how the supercharger's boost bypass valve behaves thru -pwm. A totally seperate PWM map i program.

So when a button press i can have race truck, or back to halfway reasonable with another button press.

This is a big issue that no aftermarket ECU mfg will do **** about for at least these things that im aware.

This alone will make this truck off the chain.

So- the red light.

Its a small 12v LED that will have a small 470ohm, .5w resistor on the negative leg and the (+) of the LED is on the same switched (12v+) the relay is on.

That way when I press tow haul, the light comes on to let me know its active, and if all goes as planned, key off should kill the relay and light(s) as well as the 2 step latching button below the red light.

I spent today making the i/o harness. Its fairly simple.

2 e-fan relays to trigger
2 i/c pumps to trigger on 1 relay
1 (-)PWM for the bbv
1 (-) input for tow/haul
1 (-) input for 2-step
1 (0-5v) input for flex
1 (12v+) to power the flex sensor and bbv solenoid

In other news, this weird arse BBV solenoid was a tuff one to figure out.

It has a strange male plug on it that i didnt really recognize or find on a gen 3 or Gen 4 harness... but i did find a EV1 plug that, with a little air dremel action; fit, and with a lil notch, the clip from the injector locks it in place

I later found those little plugs are like 30-40$ OEM lol

One wire is 12v ignition, the other is -PWM thru the holley. The little leads I left loose are so i can solder in a diode, which will be a "firewall" for the holley so when those voltage spikes hit thru the pulse width modulation, it wont send voltage back into the holley.

Diode arrives tomorrow with the aforementioned 470ohm resistor.
