Today me and my buddy got the 4L80e in. It was easy as can be. Worst part was I had to cut away more at the gutter so the blower lid could sit deeper so the driveline angle was correct.

I was able to use the original 4.3 cross member, and cut the platform off and welded it on the backside.

Ill use the c10s old 1350 yoke on the output as well.

I dont like that cheesy trans mount ,OR the single point of contact and will be definitely getting something better for the long haul because I intend on making my motor mounts solid as well.

Its enough to get the project off the ground though. THAT is a 2500 HD 2wd trans mount LOL

Im fixing to go to Chicago for a week, when I get back ill work on it some more.

I made some good progress yesterday, nothing too crazy. Got the ethanol sensor and fuel lines i made where I wanted them. To the left of the motor, fuel lines are behind a heat shield and up and away from anything hot, so the fuel will mostly always stay fairly cool

The little bracket came later to mount the ethanol sensor

Whoever pieced that throttle body together did a crappy job of making sure everything was lined up and there was just these big breaks in the air intake because of mis-matched bores and edges so I took the porting tool and rounded/slanted the edges the best I could so the air will flow better. Exactly why they put a 103 on there having it neck back down to like 3 or 3.5" ... I dont know, but i do know a bigger throttle body will maybe pair with the response of the blower really good.

Also got the catch cans and pcv system mounted.

And also got my regulator setup. The fuel system is now closed and complete. Today I will install my 450LPH pump and swap fuel filters.

Harness for the holley is all tucked and wrapped around the motor neatly, the excess goes into the cab where I will have the holley ecu.

On another note I pulled the steering column out. The PO hacked it to pieces for zero reason so I am searching for another good one with door cylinders and key.

Things are coming together nicely and slowly

Small update;
Today I got the walbro 450LPH fuel pump in the tank, drained all the old gas, got the tank back in the truck, and pinned the crank shaft so it wouldnt slip (yes theres a Woodruff key in the pulley but that pulley didnt go on the 5.3.

So basically, I bought my wife a pretty cool 12x12 greenhouse (not the hf one lol) and i dug a lot for it, backfilled it, approx like 2 or 3 yd of digging and refilling with river rock, then i did a stone edge with block, so ive been pretty deep in that for a bit. But I recently got back to my silveraydo......bloweraydo

I got the front end back on, and for the most part finished up all the tucking and so forth

The wiring harness isnt cluttered with the holley.

Got the good ol factory trans cooler on for the 4L80e off a tahoe, and I added the water to air intercooler up there, front end back on , yatta yatta

I recently tackled the interior and got it all back together, mounted the terminator, got the 3rd seat in. New column from a 99 with a key, and fob and matching door lock cylinders.

On another super duper technical part, ive been taking a 03-07 wiring harness from a 2500 and repinning, depinning, and relocating wires to basically build a custom harness for my application, AND to integrate into my 99... which uses a different wiring schematic entirely.

Ive had to repin all the primary bulkheads mostly, remove old sensors i wont be using and have basically cut it down to a harness that has

4 transmission plugs
4 sensor inputs (CTS, TPS, RPM, OIL)
1 starter output

The purpose of the ecm is to report class 2 data to the instrument cluster for coolant temp, engine speed and vehicle speed.

Oil pressure is a singular wire to the dash on 99.

The other function of the ecm is to shift my 4L80e independently of the motor and terminator X im using to manage it.

So it just needs two 0-5 volt inputs.
throttle position
Engine rpm

And its 4 transmission plugs, 1 of which can be optional, but i want my shift indicator to work.

Once its to my satisfaction, and properly reading the signals on a laptop, I will re loom it and wrap it and tuck it like its stock. You'll almost never know

The final list of stuff I think i need. Im nearly finished.

Standoff is for the intercooler pump,

im gonna run gen 4 knock sensors due to the blower blocking the valley, I need a c5 ps pump but it will run without it.

Driveshaft can be sourced from a extended cab, then i shorten it and get the appropriate conversion joint to suit my 1310 4L80e output i have planned.

Still need a 03-07 van ecm, so i can reflash its computer to read TPS signal. I HAD one, but it ended up being bricked (sad)

Other half of exhaust is literally that factory flange with 2 bolts. I just need to go to the local gmt800 junkyard and pull off the muffler section so I can keep it quiet if I want.

If anyone likes to get into the weeds with tech talk

You can go here and view my thread about the subject of modifying/reflashing :

I dont have any actual recorded pics or documentation of how I repinned my harness, I just went on LT1swap.com and printed out the pertinent pinouts and went wire-by-wire.

Dang Vince, you're a goer, I'm impressed. I also have an HP tuner, fun stuff that can get you in trouble fast.
