I know one guy that did it, the button to open them was between the cab and the bed.

only problem is when a thief sees no handle he knows that it has a button somewhere to open the doors

my buddy has remote popers with a hidden button for a back up and he has lost a stereo system and alot of cd's
and they tore up his dash to get the deck

You need a hard wired switch at some position in case the remote takes a dive.

If somebody wants to break into your car not much is going to stop them if the are determined short of a good security system or a .44 Magnum, lol...

The advice given here in Reno where car breakins are very common is dont leave anything of value in your vehicle. Alot of guys on a local forum here dont even lock their doors, because if they want in they will just damage your **** getting in. One of my buddies had the top of his door pried open so they could steal a pack of ciggerettes. I **** you not, the new trend is guys stealing entire doors off of Jeeps.

I dont know what the crime is like up there but here you just be carefull where you leave your car and when.

they now have cable operated back ups and some have pop machine style keys you use.

IMO that's the best way.

I would never put a button ANYWHERE without it being under a locked area, like a toolbox or hiden lock box, so to me the cable with a key to operate it and then a key fob for popping the doors, only way I'd go basically.

we put a cable back up behind the door mirror on my buddies truck and done away with the back up switch.

only downfall is you have to take the screw out of the chrome trim piece on the mirror and pull it up to get to the back up cable.

oh ya his truck is a short bed 79 lowrider with suicide doors.

Shaved door handles and shaved mirrors on these trucks is ugly IMO.
