Been talking about it for ahwile: http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4639&highlight=f250
But figured the install needed its own thread; so lets get this project started….
Before: Dual Rancho RS9000XL with 7” travel
The parts: ORD Zero-Rate Add a Leave, new U-bolts, Ford F-250 shock towers and Rancho RS9000XL 11.5” travel
F-250 shock towers…
ORD blocks – u bolts…
Old RS v. New RS…. Notice how fatter the body is too
Just over 11” of travel…
Midway point will need to be marked for later reference…
Old shocks removed….. sold on CL
These rivets will need to be ground off and bracket removed…
Bracket off and holes hogged out to ½”
Notice fender well has been trimmed too…. (before here)…
Total amount of material removed…
Touched up with some rattle can…
On to the towers….. dry fitted – marked – masked and cut to size…
Remember marking the midway poin ton the shock? You want to install the new tower at that point.
Crappy pic, but remember the two rivet holes drilled out? Use the top one for the tower top bolt. Mount in place and tap 2 additional holes (1/2”)
Remember the fat shock bodies? I had to notch the lower mounts to fit that sumbeech in there…
Mocked up, awaiting grade 8 hardware…
