But figured the install needed its own thread; so lets get this project started….

Before: Dual Rancho RS9000XL with 7” travel

The parts: ORD Zero-Rate Add a Leave, new U-bolts, Ford F-250 shock towers and Rancho RS9000XL 11.5” travel

Old RS v. New RS…. Notice how fatter the body is too

Just over 11” of travel…

Midway point will need to be marked for later reference…

Old shocks removed….. sold on CL 

These rivets will need to be ground off and bracket removed…

Bracket off and holes hogged out to ½”

Notice fender well has been trimmed too…. (before here)…

Touched up with some rattle can…

On to the towers….. dry fitted – marked – masked and cut to size…

Remember marking the midway poin ton the shock? You want to install the new tower at that point.

Crappy pic, but remember the two rivet holes drilled out? Use the top one for the tower top bolt. Mount in place and tap 2 additional holes (1/2”)

Remember the fat shock bodies? I had to notch the lower mounts to fit that sumbeech in there…

What are you going to do with the old brackets?

Old OE brackets I threw in my neighbors garbage disposal.

Brackets and shocks for dual kit was sold on CL.

Day Two:

Installing ORD Zero Rate Add a Leave’s and new U-bolts:
You must be registered for see images attach


Install is pretty straight forward. Lift truck, I used a floor jack under the diff then put a bottle jack under the leaf-springs, as close as you can to the perches. Slowly drop the floor jack until you have room to install the blocks.

I had shims in my front end…
