Saw this cabinet in the pile at work. It was already trashed...

That's so dumb.

Literally the same exact cabinet as the one I picked up a couple months ago.

Picked this up at Hobby Lobby yesterday. Pretty cool, it lights up. Gotta figure out where to hand it now

Great ride on the 1955 Cleveland Welding Co. Roadmaster bike today!

Felt bad that it got blasted with sand and salt spray from Erin but spent some time getting it cleaned up. We get home Sunday afternoon and I’ll spend some more time cleaning it up.

Here's a couple things my dad has in his garage (I bought the big block valve covers for him at the Darryl Starbird show a few years back)

An interesting GM product, a M1 Carbine rifle mfg by Saginaw Div. of General Motors, 1943. I’ve had it and other WWII rifles for years, and Yes, it shoots great!

Back in the war years if you had a factory and could work metal or wood you were most likely making weapons or other war materials. International Harvester made M1 Garands (my Garand was made by the original Springfield Armory). The Rock-Ola juke box company made M1 Carbines, as did IBM. Singer (the sewing machine company) made .45 cal 1911 handguns. The list goes on and on……

This rifle is mostly original. Although real hard to photograph, the barrel is stamped “Saginaw” and “General Motors” and the stock has several stampings or “cartouches”. Like most US rifles of the day, the stock is made from Black Walnut.

The barrel was made by Saginaw, good chance the receiver was made by Inland corp., a GM company in Dayton Oh. Inland made the lions share of M1 carbines. My Grandpa worked for Inland from the 30s to 64. He was too old and had too many kids to go to war, he said he worked 7 days a week, 12hrs a day all through the war. He lived up to 2006 and died at 102 yrs old. I miss him sorely.
