Anybody know what the torque is for a 86' K2500 8 lug? Found 140 ft lbs on the interwebs but wanted to check here. Thanks y'all.

That's about right. They are very forgiving though, as long as the rim is seated well. Probably anything from 110 to 180 pounds would be fine.

I think you can tell at one point my wheel below had either been used with the wrong lugnuts, maybe overtorqued, or maybe maybe backwards so the tapered seat wasnt facing the wheel, or something.

Who knows what has happened over the years with old trucks, lol. If you notice, that's not even a wheel from a GM truck. It has the slightly larger center opening, common on Dodge and Ford. I'm not sure about International.

i know whats wrong with it.. its a ford.. fix it again, tony, hehe.

The larger opening is because sterling axlesd ust have to take up more space BARELY with their design.

What year! God only knows what the 1975 supplemental manual and the 1983 manuals would have to say on the matter

I've always put a 4 lug on it and put my arse into it. Too many friends lost tires scared me. But.....BUTT got bigger lol. Maybe I should lay off. :)

this manual is for an 86, but I got this manual from a forum on here somewhere. It had quite a few years. I'll try and find the post

no no no im joking, the torque very unlikely changed at all in that time period and I Was just being funny because its 99% likely it remained the same since 1973 to 1991

Hell, may have even stayed the same for gmt 400 3/4 tons

Only reason I can think of why the torque would differ on a 3/4 ton is some were full floater and others non floaters.

m,aybe, but the studs are probably the same and the wheels use the lug nuts to taper seat into the wheel to locate it,, so id think it would be the same. now if it was a matter of multipole axles with 8 lugs other than the 2 i can think of, maybe. Well... nmaybe we do? dana 80s or anything used on squares or nah?
