Wondering if I have posi in this rear end. Was told I do…if so, do I need the additive for the gear oil?

Easy test (and doesn't require opening the diff cover). Lift both rear wheels off the ground, put the trans in park or 1st, engine off.

Turn 1 rear wheel - if opposite wheel turns the other direction, you have a basic open diff. If you cannot turn the wheel, put the trans in neutral and try again. If both wheels turn the same way, you have some sort of posi or limited slip mechanism in play.

It's a plain old open diff. And they can turn both wheels the same direction no load if the spider gears or axle end gears are burred or too tight.
