Hello Everyone! I'm new to the site but I have a question.
I own a 84 GMC 1500 4x4 step-side that I have owned since 2005. In 2008 I wrecked it on the Interstate and kissed the wall, killing out the front clip and the frame. I'm now wanting to restore it back to its former glory.
One of my neighbors parted out a 1980 Chevy short-bed and he told me he would sell the frame. What I'm wanting to know is if my 84 will work on this frame and if so is there any mods I'm going to have to do.

Any info will be highly helpful. Thank you all.

i believe it would fit on there as long as the bed lenghts are the same. not much difference in the frames up to about an '86.. now if one is 4x4 and the other is 2wd that may cause you an issue but im not sure with that.
