Decided to redo the interior in my truck. It wasn't too bad to begin with. I use this truck for everything from taking the wife out to dinner on Fridays, to hauling rock and lumbar, to hunt trips and just every day life in general so not worried about the outside too much, but wanted it to be nice on the inside. I've been saving up parts over the last year or so, and finally got to a point that i could rip the old stuff out. The plan was to just freshen up the interior panels, dash and gauges, but has now turned into an install of a retro sound head unit with Sirius XM capability. Will be installing front door, kick panel, and rear speakers with one 8 inch sub all ran by a 5 channel 1800 watt amp, so nothing crazy, just loud and clear. Here's the progress so far. Not the best at taking photos while I'm working on stuff, so might be a while before I add more.
starting with a pretty clean truck:
Had some minor surface rust on floor pan, so took care of that and primed the bare metal with self-etching primer.planned on laying a couple layers of sound deadener so not worried about a top coat.
sound deadener laid down. still need to do the back cab. Haven't decided if I want to do a headliner yet or not. truck didn't come with it originally, so might be more than i want to do. Any suggestions?
Here's the door panel after recoating with Colorbond LVP in saddle tan. just wanted to see how it would look, and honestly, I love it. Still have to cut the hole for the speaker, and install the stainless door trim but that hasn't shown up yet.
And here's the new dash all ready to install. Still waiting on all the dash HVAC ducts to arrive. The previous owner must've decided they weren't necessary, as there was only the center duct up off the airbox, but nothing else.
