Not bragging, but i guess i got lucky. I bought an 89 crew with absolutely no rust. Buffed it out..in process of waxing it, and it looks great to me. 454 tbi, th400, 4.10 open rear...needed tires, cracked dash, little wear on drivers seat. runs good, shifts good. 1600 bucks...gas was killing the guy. they are out there...just gotta be patient...now i need a good cheap 1 ton 4x4 for a donor to make mine 4wd.

i know a guy selling one here for 600 it need tires, brakes and a passenger side vent window it is a C20 crew cab 305 tbi 4spd manual it is a awful yellow color and it was a former DOT truck.

Yes, easier to find one thats not rusted out, than convert them to 4x4. Only hard part is the floor pan if it isnt the bolt in version for the transafer case clearance.

I plan on starting with a 2wd then a divorced case to remedy having to change the floor out again.

Wow John, thats a nice looking 70's crew. I was thinking of find a 2 wheel drive one and converting it to 4x4... then another cummins project will begin....
