How do you guys battle rust?

i don't have to worry about rust under my crew cab anymore

por 15 and monstaliner inside and out on the firewall and rockers

a archaeologist is going to dig up the floor of my crew cab a million years from now and wonder what the hell it was

FluidFilm Rust preventitive. it's applied with an Body shutz gun. or comes in a spray can. its Lanolin based (Sheep Grease) most parts stores in the Northeast are stocking it. John Deere Dealers have it as well. still a bit messy under the vehicle but not as bad as Motor oil www.fluid-film.com
Salt is bad, but the Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride Brine they are spraying on the roads is absolutly destroying vehicles where they use it. I'm seeing vehicles 5-6 years old with severe rust issues RT

LMAO, it is really that bad there ? None of the ones I've bought from around here are rusty, my k10 has some rust. Cause they left it sitting in a area that floods a bit.

I park my good trucks around thanksgiving and get them back out around Easter how I battle rust. I run a few rust buckets in the winter for run abouts. The wreckers unfortunately have to work in the winter but they have heavy bed liner coating on undersides and been painted with Por paint. Every year they get reprotected hoping I get 8-10 years out of them on a complete restore.

This how my father taught me.
I spray the whole under side and trouble areas with oil, such as inside doors, fenders, etc. And a way to get it to stick and not totally drip off is to drive down a dusty dirt road so dust will settle on the oil holding to your truck body.

Wow that's pretty cool. I'm going to keep that in mind when I'm done putting the new floor and rockers on mine.
