Has anyone used a different length hood release cable? I have an 86 I am trying to de-clutter the engine compartment on and absolutely hate the routing of the factory hood release cable. It would clean the driver's side up some if the hood cable could be routed behind the fender support. The factory cable also cuts the corner on the front right. A longer cable would allow the cable to be less obtrusive. I didn't know if anyone had used a longer one off of a different vehicle or if anything was even available. Thanks in advance.

Front left (driver's side corner) is the corner cut, not front right

How about a two cable setup? A short one along the core support to a bell crank, then a second cable along the fender into the interior.
