If anyone's got a fabricated hitch on their truck, post it up please! Front or rear hitches, I'm looking for ideas for both.

You mean reese or you talking about ball hitch or pintle, or...??? 2 1/2" externally welded 1/4" wall box steel can make for a good home made 2" reese. Dad made one for the front of his truck for super heavy duty use, I'll have to get pics for ya though. It is set up on a steel brush guard/push bar and tied into the frame, built to handle a removable 16,000 pound electric winch. On the back of my truck someone welded a piece of 1/4" plate approximately 3" wide along the bottom of the bumper the length of between the frame rails, then cut a commercial 2" reese down and welded it to the plate. I have yanked many trucks and tree stumps with it but it is slightly bowed now. 3" x 3" x 1/4" thick angle iron might have been more structurally rigid.

Reese type is what I'm looking to do, in order to tote a trailer or mount a winch.

I have a couple used hitches to butcher. Is that one just bolted up with one bolt on each side? With a ball hitch or winch stuck in there, that's a lot of stress on those bolts and area of frame.

I have to agree, the front section of the frame from the radiator forward is riddled with holes, rivets, bolts, etc. You would have to do some beefing up or put in another crossmember at the back of the hitch to attach it to. By the way I went out to clean the snow off the vehicles and run them a bit and tried to get a pic of my rear reese, but my touch screen phone doesn't work too good with gloves on!

The one i built thats in my S-10 was pretty simple. I cut it down so that with 2 sections of 3x4x1/4 angle would just fit between the rails then welded it up good and drilled 2 hols that matched holes already in the frame and used grade 8 bolts in it
