I got my hitch in today and held it up to the frame with jack stands. Is it me or does it stick out to far. I got the part # from the website and just looks like sticking out to far. What you guys think? It can't go back any further because it hits leaf spring mounts. Anyone have picture of theirs mounted so I can compare?

I have a DrawTite and it sticks out 3 3/4" beyond the license plate. This is the only pic I had handy...

I don't think it looks excessive, you're probably just not used to seeing something hanging out the back like that. Personally, I think having a bit more room between your truck and what you're towing isn't a bad thing. It gets kinda dicey when you're trying to turn tight and the trailer is at 90 degrees to the truck.

Ill look at it closer tomorrow and see if I can do some modifying to cut a few inches.

Well I did a little modifying and got it installed tonight. I cut 2 inches off the ends and drilled new holes. Looks much better. Also bought grade 8 bolts for the install for a little added security.
