Hey my name is Justin. Grew up loving this body style truck. I currently have an'82 crew cab dually 4x4 6.2L diesel with a turbo 400 tranny. Thinking about a more modern diesel swap. I have a couple of options for motors, either an 01 Duramax and Allison combo or the Cummins engine option. Not 100% locked in on one yet, although I do have the complete truck with the Dirtymax in it.

Hope to learn as much as I can while Im here. I dont post a bunch, but I read and research a lot of the things I find interesting. Thanks for your time.

Justin

welcome !!! My brother has a crew with the 5.9 cummins in it. Real sweet setup to go with. It's a pulling machine. I have been considering the 6.6 duramax swap in mine. I don't pull much with mine anymore. Depending on what you plan on using your truck for as to which way to go. I'd do cummins if your going to pull heavy loads all the time, and duramax if your just using it moderatly and driving it.

Thanks for the Welcomes. This truck will be a toy more or less that will do some hauling and pulling of trailers. Other than that I want it to be a bit of a sleeper in a sense. We have pulled 14,000 with that Duramax like nothing was behind us. Either option I believe will be a good one and last for a very long time.

Welcome!
would be nice tonsee a Dmaxx swap in a square, so many have done the cummins already. You will need to do a 2" body lift at least fornthe Dmaxx/allison combo.
