Do the 14 sf require a differential case spreader like the 14 ff does?

Interesting point. My experience is with the older 14 bolt SF, which definitely do not require a spreader, adjustment nut performs that function.
Letter's SF is a Later model, not totally sure about those...

I know I'm bumping this from a few months ago, but I'm working on this again as soon as I get parts. I have a 14FF rear and I'm buying a D44 front from the same truck the rear came from this weekend. It's out of a stock height K20 camper special the same year as mine with 4.56 gearing. Perches line up, but should I expect to have any issues with the driveline angles or anything else I'm not thinking of? Already have the possible driveshaft length problem, 8 lug wheels, and conversion u-joint in mind.

Edit: By the parts I mean the minor parts - u-bolts and nuts, brake lines, possibly new springs (eventually I will but probably not right now).
