You couldn’t have picked a more open ended question for your into post.
Not sure where to go with “suggestions” don’t know what might need to be suggested with no other context than the vehicle you own and the location of the future road trip. (The 2nd part being largely immaterial to the question.)
I’ll start though.

Maybe check the spark plugs and muffler bearings? Top off blinker fluid.
