Hey everyone I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem my 77 serria fuel gauge stopped working for a while it would read but not always accurate and now it doesn't move I dumped 3 gallons in it the other day and the needle never moved off e and I know it has some fuel in the tank my grandfather said maybe the ground wire came off where would this wire be please help ASAP thank you

The grounding wire for the fuel level sender goes from the sender head to the frame. It is usually black and should be fairly short - attaching to the frame close to the sender.

Make sure the clip on the sender end is firmly snapped on the terminal stab. At the frame end; remove the bolt, clean the threads & and ring terminal faces, screw the bolt back in and tighten securely.

like chengny said, a very common issue ground will either fall off or rust off
