Welcome from far west Texas!

Run it... when it fails you will be like one of those old school lowrider with them hydraulics scraping and shooting out sparks out the back...

Unfortunately I have located another damaged/welded part of the frame behind the driver side front shock mount and now I'm feeling a bit discouraged from putting any work into this one. I was coming to terms with what I originally posted about but to have 2 is pushing it for me. This one actually looks worse. sigh. The truck does sag a little on one side, this may be the reason.

It seems there are mixed opinions on this. For the record, I am not going for showroom quality on this project, I just want to remove all the rust and get it back on the road with new parts and fresh paint. I've reached out to a local shop for their thoughts too, I'm just waiting for them to contact me. I appreciate everyone's responses, I got more than I expected to.
Just clean it up and see! Like others said all that snarf is or isn't hiding things. Get a wire wheel and go after it. If it looks ugly on both sides worry about if not put some paint on it and press on.

Didn't see that before I posted! Is that on the driver's side, I'm assuming yes! Post a picture of your square. Especially if it is lifted we want to see it.

Dang. That truck has seen some hard use in it's day. That repair is certainly less than stellar. If you chose to find a different frame, I don't think anyone would fault you for it. But on the other hand, it was obviously repaired long ago and it has held up fine.

And a few months ago after a cab swap. Bed got tossed. This was a plow truck before I found it so I am ankle deep in rust. lol

Not sure where you are located, but I see frames for sale in Arizona that are pretty clean under $500. Less and less of them though.

I would clean these up. Box in these two locations. Paint it and run it.
