So my stock one was cast aluminum. Had tapped holes for the screws to hold it to the dash.
After pulling a dumb move and attaching my heater cables out side the dash to the new face plate and having to remove em to the mount said face plate behind the dash..I learned a new issue
The repop plastic hvac controllers…don’t have threaded holes in the mounts. Just free balling big holes.
Gonna hit the hardware store tomorrow and find some longer screws and clip on backings to make it work. I was have tempted to strip the new one and make it work in the old housing. Just F’n annoyed that some of these repops forget the most important function. Being able to be attached lol
