I swapped motors in my truck from a 4.3l to a 5.7l back in the spring.

I did the swap on a budget and did what I needed to get back on the road.

I still have the Cat, and V6 muffler. Now that I have some money I want to do my exhaust.

I have headers, but I don't want anything terribly loud or obnoxious.

Any ideas? I was thinking maybe just a stock muffler from the headers and that was it.

Was there a reason for headers?? If it was better performance then lean more towards a little more open exhaust then stock mufflers. I have had flow master 40 series. They would wake the dead if you put your foot to the floor.. Other wise.. they where decent.

I have full 2" True duals with Glasspacks, 2" is perfect for that crisp cackle, and is perfect for performance across the board, as far as mufflers, you can find yourself some quiet mufflers.

Lets just say that when i Make it unwind, you can hear me a couple blocks away. And thats with mufflers :peace::peace::peace::peace:

Ive had cops copliment the sound of my truck, its cammed, so the rough idle alongside the glasspacks sounds nice.

I just bought a flow tech dual exhaust with raptor mufflers and it sounds good but fairly quiet. I also have flow tech headers. My truck is a 4x4 and had to bend the left pipe just off the header. It's a dual exhaust 2 1/4. Probably use that P20 code at advance auto for a good deal. It was fairly cheap.

Do those Raptor mufflers have their name on them (easily visible)? I think I might have a pair of those too, I would agree they are a bit on the quiet side but do sound good, especially when you get on it.

I bought summit street and strip mufflers. There slightly louder then stockers. Great rumble to them and cheaper then dirt. For both mufflers and shipping was about 50$.
