My 1980 C 10 with a 4.1 litre inline 6 will not run unless gas is pured into carburator bowl. Engine dies when gas is used up. Have good fuel pressure at carburator inlet. Carburator is a Rochester Varijet ll.

You've answered your question and already trouble shot the issue.

It runs only with gas added, you're not getting enough gas through the carb.

If you have pressure at the carb inlet then you'll have issues in the carb. Bad float, clogged jets but for sure it's in you carb.

Replace the filter stone in the carburetor inlet and see if that doesn't clear it up.
