Got a bit more done last weekend. Ran power and gas. Wired the panels. Touched up the fine grade and compacted the base.
Started wiring. Pouring the slab Friday. Overhead doors in a few weeks.

No, that’s Hope. She got left on our porch as a puppy with a note attached to her. Coincidentally around the time my wife was getting sicker and wanted a little dog that could be “inside” with her.
She’s a trooper. She’s the one that got tore up bad by our last German Shepherd a couple years ago now. Almost killed her. Partly I think because she wouldn’t back down! She still has that attitude. Good in theory but not the best preservation plan.

Both dogs are absolute grunge balls. Impossible to keep clean, they spend too much time in the fields digging…
The other one is Kinley.
She’s just a friendly bear.
Fresh Summer buzz cuts. In the winter they both look like they’re 20 lbs heavier with long hair.

Making me look bad. I haven't even got around to installing a dedicated 30 amp RV outlet at the one barn/shop yet.

Making me look bad. I haven't even got around to installing a dedicated 30 amp RV outlet at the one barn/shop yet.

One advantage of doing everything “now” makes it easier to do what you want or need.
On the flip side you have alot of shop or barn space now as I recall. Which is awesome.
I ran a legit 100A service to the shop and including about everything a guy would need for power. Even a 30A RV plug on the far wall!

Despite my measuring the place 300x, its still a 2 car. lol Its only about 7+ft tall too....built for midgets.

Doing all my bodywork - all thats left is the fenders and bed. New goal is to get all the bodywork done and in primer so Spring it can all be painted. I'm not Foose but am OCD enough that it takes me awhile.....but so far I'm pretty pleased with the results. If I get this stuff done and we still have a decent Fall left.....anything is possible.

Yeah, both barns/shops have their own 100A service right off the meter. And the little "guest" house too. I just haven't got around to running an RV recepticle off any of them.

Don’t feel bad. I can tell ya, I’ve been apprehensive forever of restoring or rebuilding a vehicle because it would take forever.
Getting the blue truck done was…nothing like what you’re doing. And ….an extreme challenge due to available time.
But, took the day off work tomorrow. Pouring the slab in the shop!
Then off to Seattle to see my gf for the weekend, and every night for the next couple weeks after that doing the wiring.
I need to get it done by the end of the month because I took a new job in Idaho and will be entering another realm of “WTF were you thinking taking this on, Thrall?”

I'd kill to have a shop like what you're building. Its a catch 22 for me....I dont have the money for a shop because I'm building this truck. If I didn't have the truck, I could build a shop, but then wouldn't have money to build anything in it. wtf?

I feel ya.
Although I hope you will have nowhere near what a shop like this costs into your truck.
I’ll be almost $100k deep into it. Take away the 100s of tons of fresh driveway gravel and it’ll be about 90k.
That was largely hiring out the build for a bit less than going rate and doing my own dirt, grading, electrical.
The upside is it’s instant equity. When I bought the house last year, a very comparable place on 1/3 the land of this place sold for like $115k more. With a similar size new shop that had no slab, power or overhead doors.
Retail prices the slab doors and electrical are at least $30k.
So I should have about 30% instant equity in it. I can think of worse ways to make 30k.
The point is, if you can build it smartly, you are gonna make $ on it.

Would have loved to have the time to take off work for a month to frame it up while my younger son was home this summer. He’d have made killer money and I’d have pocketed another $20k.
