Getting a tach? :D

I do recall that there is a slight difference due to how the bezel and pad are held in but I can't remember if it was enough to be a hindrance.

They are sold in four different model year groups.

Some differences between the years are obvious (like the hole for the wiper switch). Others are more subtle and won't even be noticed until final fit-up.

I don't want to mess you up with the differences and whether they can be modified to fit any other model year groups. But the 4 different designs by model year groups are like this:

75 - 77
78 - 80
81 - 83
84 - 87 (91)

Jerry Thanks for that info... This one is for a 85 and my truck is a 81.. Sad day.. But that saves me a 4 hour drive and the trade of a small press frame.

1973-74(?) - wiper switch has a smaller opening and was closer to the column, I believe.
1989-91 was set up for the 1.5 Din radio.

Pretty sure the '75-'77 wiper switch is in a slightly different location than the later ones too. One is slightly higher than the other IIRC.

There is a difference in where they meet the dash pad starting in '81, but I've never tried swapping stuff to see exactly what the deal is.

Oh, and the difference starting in '84 is the lack of a wiper switch opening, and the headlight switch moved location a little.
