Ordered a Coverlay dash cover and it was def worth the $100. Easy to install and looks much better than the 28 yr old cracked up dash. All you gotta do is clean your dash with a little dawn and water. Wipe it down with some denatured alcohol and glue it down.

Just from my personal experience it was worth it instead of a $200 upper dash pad. Enjoy

Dash does not have to come off. They will warp in the heat eventually(at least Texas/Arizona etc...). I am using sun shade on all of my vehicles and it appears to help

They warp in Ohio too. They also do crack overtime, just not nearly as bad as the actual dash pad.

Looks good, yo! I need to do this also. I did see on Ebay Summit selling OER dashpads. They were selling a dark blue pad for $215. Wish I had the funds for it. Would be nice to have a new dash pad.

It was easy and took no time. If over time gets me a few yrs I am good. I may just get a new dash pad the second time around but for now it was def worth it.

I bought one too a few weeks ago and it looks really nice compared to my old dash pad. I haven't glued it down yet because it's to cold out. I bought mine from www.jcwhitney.com for around $100. also with free shipping. I used a 20% off coupon I found online. I was anxious to install mine when it came and it was cold out around 30 and I put a little crack in the passenger side lower corner, I must have forced it a little to much. It's not very noticeable, but I would suggest not installing one in the cold weather.

old man has had his almost 10 years it never warped but it did crack only a few years after install and it's right where the dash rolls down from the gauge section to the flat pass. side part, only one that ever showed up, rest is perfect.

Some previous owner of my truck installed a plastic dash cover. Don't know how old it is, but it's cracked at top/center near the windshield from "bowing up" in the heat. I now keep a pair of gloves on that spot to hide it and shade it from the sun.

The cover also pulled away from the dash in a few places from ash tray to glove box. I used some black RTV to re-attach it, and came up with a Rube Goldberg engineering solution to keep pressure on the dash cover until the RTV fully cured. Seems to be working OK. But it still creaks in a few places.

If your truck is garaged or under a cover, you may be OK for a few years. Mine sits outside all the time with the windows up, and gets at least 5 hours of sun each day. And in the sun the cover warps even more, but goes back to normal when it cools.

I'd say the manufacturer used plastic unsuitable for the job. But just try returning one after a year or so, even if you bought it new!

What say you, vendors? Why do you sell this c-rap?
