There is alot of reading to be done here, but someone has taken countless hours to do this study for everyone to see. There is also some great info here that I think will suprise many.

You will also see why I mostly use Motorcraft filters in my GM vehicles, and why I use Mobil 1 filters to keep my Full Synthetic Motor Oil clean.

You will learn things like Wix makes many of the OEM filters for new cars along with Napa filters, and you might also be suprised that there isn't as many oil filter manufactuers that you'd think there actually are.

Happy Reading !!!

Very interesting article. I didn't read about every single filter. From what I read it looks like AC Delco (which is what I use) is a decent filter, right? Or did I miss something? I've been using them for years and never have had a problem. I stay far away from Fram, though. I have used a Wix less than a handle full of times when AC Delco was not available.

That's really neat, I am happy about my Wix oil filter now too. :)

I used a Fram once in my 1992 Olds convertible and the damned thing started knocking.

Some self proclaimed "expert" said it wasn't the filter.

He told me he'd been using Fram for years without problem. Funny his car started knocking while on the hot rod power tour. *******.

 that is pretty funny right there!! :) There must be someone still buying them, though, otherwise they'd be outta business. I went to an auto parts store once looking for my AC Delco but they were out. So then I asked for a Wix and they were out of that too. The guy said, "I have plenty of Fram filters, though.". I said "no thanks!" as quickly as possible and went to the other auto parts store right next door.

He insists it wasn't the oil filter though there was really no other explanation.

I never gave two ***** about which oil filter I used and that is most likely why my Mustang has upper valve train noise! I have run Fram on everything forever. My last oil change in the mustang..... I started it and the valves started ticking and never stopped.
