I'm looking to add ceiling mounted grab handles like these https://www.ebay.com/itm/297085982446 to my 83 Suburban which does not have any. Does anybody have photos of the mount points in the ceiling. Presume I'll need to weld something up there.

@Ricko1966 - Plusnuts are definitely good for this! But its been over 20 years since I've had the headliner out so not sure what's up there to mount Plusnuts into. Figured I'd need to add some metal first so was hoping someone has pics

The headliner should just be mounted in over the steel inner panel that most trucks have as a ceiling when there is no headliner unless they changed it at some point, never owned one that had a soft headliner.

@xm20k-Suburbans don't have steel inner panels like pickups do

Seems they don't, didn't know that I've only owned C series trucks. They do however appear to have a double walled outer perimeter that could possibly be used to attach rivnuts too to mount the handles.

That's what I thought as well.

I’m not sure about the front, my suburban didn’t have pulls but behind the headliner but in my 88 there are built in mounting points that you won’t see unless the headliner is out.

Thanks @lht205 , I was hoping the mount points would be there when I yank the headliner
