Hey guys, looking at a very clean cab from a 79 c10 to use on my 76 c10 build. I am having a hard time finding a good one that is my year or older. Are there any differences other than the vin tag location between a 76 and a 79 cab. I want my build to look just like a 76 when it's all done if you know what I mean. From what I can tell so far there are very little differences.

The different interior door panels come to mind. The radio also comes to mind. I’d doublecheck the end of the steering columns. The new cab may not accept the end of your intermediate steering shaft. Perfect opportunity to put a Jeep XJ sector shaft in it. The electronics were standardized across much of GM between 1977-93, which to me is a good thing. The 1976 and earlier had some weird things going on like the aforementioned radio, and the different connectors they could have. The headlight bezels are gonna be different. If the trucks are optioned similarly, I think the core differences will be hard to point out unless you really know the trucks. You’re right, the differences are picayune at most. At least in my eyes.

I will only be using the bare cab shell but I want to swap all of my interior stuff from the 76 into it so it looks like a 76
