Where did most of you guys find your build sheets. I've always found them in cars up under the seat stuffed in the springs. No luck looking there on my '84Silverado.

Thanks,
Stepperado

My burb is on the driver side wheel well under the hood, it's an 84. Either that or on the glove box door

I've never heard of the trucks getting any type of build sheet. If some did get them left with the truck, it must be a much smaller amount compared to cars.

Those are what's known as the SPID label. A build sheet would have even more info on it.

I have two full rows of info, from the trim to what gear ratio I have, lots of info on it.

What does SPID stand for?

Service Parts Identification

A build sheet tells everything about the vehicle. Besides listing the options, they also tell what parts were installed even if it was standard equipment for that particular model. They also say where and when the vehicle was built, as well as the dealer it was being shipped to.

I'm pretty sure mine is a build sheet, it has a lot more info on it than I've seen on any other ones. I'll have to look at it this weekend I can't remember what was all on it.

It's not a build sheet. A build sheet would be a full size sheet of paper normally found under the carpet, under a seat, behind a door panel, or on top of a gas tank. It was a piece of paper used on the assembly line by workers, they sometimes left it somewhere in the car, but more often it was pitched into the trash.

A buddy of mine found the build sheet for his car in the springs under his front seat. On the sheet was written "I love your car" by the assembly worker who helped put it together.

But back to the topic at hand, I'm getting from all the responses that our trucks typically did not include a build sheet. Is that correct?
