FWIW to any or all of you brakes used to have a residual pressure valve to maintain slight pressure in the lines. Part of the reason was it kept the seals in the wheel cylinders under pressure so they sealed even when you weren't on the brakes, this helped prevent air from getting drawn past the seals. Newer seal technology, this was supposedly eliminated. Still,if I had mystery low or spongy pedal I'd bleed and adjust my rear brakes.

Much obliged
That's what I was lookin for. You still bled with a dead motor didn't you?
This is the only vehicle I've owned with ABS.
No, this was on previous trucks, not the current one. Trucks were up and operational with a working ABS module. I had my dad help me and just went slow on the pedal with each pump so we didn't freak out the module. IIRC, we did this with the key off/truck asleep

I am with @Ricko1966 on this. I have never seen a swelling brake hose in my 40 years in the service business. Plenty of internal issue causing a blockage and brakes to drag.

I have seen brakes that got so hot that the fluid boiled. This made air bubbles in the fluid that had to be bled out. You would know if this happened. Your brakes would barely slow you down. If there is no air in the system and you have a low pedal look for things like frozen caliper, frozen slides, out of adjustment drum brakes, etc.

It's also not a frozen caliper,a stuck slide or a frozen wheel cylinder causing your low pedal, assuming you have single piston calipers. Not trying to cause trouble. Trying to save you time.
