Hey everyone, as the title states im gonna keep my 700r4 and bolt it up to my 5.3. My question is when getting the motor into the engine bay and mounting it up will I have firewall clearance issues? Will i have to get an aftermarket crossmember for my transmission like a 4l60E? I wanna just use the stock one and bolt it that way but I dont want the motor slamming against the firewall. I was gonna use the dirty dingo mounts so i can adjust it.

Have you figured out how you're gonna hook up the TV cable on that 5.3? I have yet to see a good way to do it. Much easier to just put a matching 4L60/65/70E along with the engine. That way everything jives and works the way it should.

Tejas Steelworks engine mounts moves the engine up/forward so you can reuse a stock truck oil pan if you want. Their crossmember can be used for pretty much any transmission, you just position it where it needs to go and drill holes/bolt.

If you're hellbent on keeping the 700, get that Tejas crossmember. Take the motor back out, bolt the trans to it, drop the whole thing back in and see where it wants to live. Mark your holes and drill for the Xmember
