Looking for some help. Doing a complete rebuild on my 79 and it’s time to line up the panels and get all the gaps correct. I got the bed back on and the space between the can and bed seems bigger then I remember. Is there a standard that I can go off of? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you running big tires and a lift? If so, pull the cab back as far as you can on the mounts, this gives a little critical tire clearance. You can place your box where it suites your eye. Generally a couple of finger widths. Some toppers require pulling the box back a little more, for cab clearance.

Im putting on a 6” lift with probably 35s. I’ve got about 2 finger spacing between the cab and bed so I’m guessing it’s good. Thanks for the help

1-1/2” one side. 1-3/4” other side.
Pretty sure body has never been off frame.

I found this site with measurements, it may help a bit.

This Fleetside body shows (measurement "N") 1.93" gap between the box and the Cab, measured through the center line of the truck.
