On my 86 K30.

Settled on the B52 kit from DIY4x. Looking for about 6-7" or so in the front to run 39.5's. I'll hack the fenders to open the wheel wells for sure. I want a low COG and some decent flexibility. My plan was the B52 kit and a pair of 2-3" lift springs get me up there. I also read something about relocating the front rear shackle. Can any help me on this? I am not finding any good info on that.

In the back, I'll add some 2" lift springs, 6" HD shackles and use my existing 2.5 ORD Shackle flip.

Thanks for the help folks!

From what I've seen, it's best to get it all together and setup with the axle where you want it (maybe a little forward from stock) and then see if the shackle placement needs changed.

Yea, I thought I read that just the 52" springs alone move the axle forward 2" or so. Even if I don't have to relocate the shackles, I'll beef up the mounting bracket with one of the manufactures kits. I'll for sure have to do crossover steering as well I'm sure.

Yeah, crossover is a must. I've never done it, but I'm sure relocating the shackle hangers is a bitch. It would suck to relocate them before everything is all said and done, just to find out there's a better location. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones that get by with the stock location and some longer shackles.

When you refer to 52in springs here, are you referring to the rears? On a 1 ton you'll have 56in rear springs.

This is very similar to what I've got on my k5. I cut my front spring, rear hanger loose and pivoted it forward using the front lower bolt hole. I'm pretty happy with the resulting shackle angle but I'm sure some would say it could be better. If I had it to do over, I'd probably do as suggested and assemble it all and then decide where to move the hanger to.

He's talking about using 52" rears on the front.

AYE, OK I get it. I wasn't sure what a B52 Kit was. I've considered the same since I have 3 sets of 52's half ton rears sitting around.

B52's are adjustable front spring hanger brackets offered by diy4x that allow you to reposition stock springs or use longer ones.
