Automatic door lock kit

Does anyone have any recommendations for adding a key fob to an 85 c10? I've been tossing that idea around in my head. I'm just not sure if there's a specific kit for it or anything. Thanks in advance.

I’ve had the kit from LMC truck for years, and it still works. However, the lock solenoids that come with it have failed and I replaced them.

The new solenoids are just as cheaply made as the ones in the kit, but they are still working. Unless the prices have gone up, the universal solenoids that come with most kits cost less than $5, and you get what you pay for. However, I haven’t found a source for better quality parts.

Mine already has power windows and locks. I just thought it would be cool to have a key fob.

I would just walk over over and unlock my door but,to prevent having to walk over and unlock the door you're going to need a remote and a receiver to trip your factory switch. They have plenty on Amazon I have no idea if any of them are better than any others.

if you get a cheap one, you might want to use the receiver to control relays to send power to your locks. I doubt it will handle the power. Do some research before you purchase. I'm guessing the cheap actuators draw less current than the old school GM actuators.

Something to think about and verify so you don't waste money.
