Very popular out here in CA, they do work but look kinda bulky.

pop the steering wheel off remove the lock ring

run a jumper wire to the distributer

jump the starter solenoid

and someone just stole your truck even with that ignition lock on

it can be done in less than 5 minutes and quietly

why would you lock up your ignition unless they have a key to it there are easier ways to steal a chevy than to knock out the ignition

nothing will 100 percent keep your truck from being stolen

If I was to steal a truck I would just use my wrecker and tow it away its easy fast and will not raise suspension unless someone knows the truck.

I have done repos with my wrecker basically legally stealing cars and trucks

this would be easy to get around but it is very visible and would stop IDIOTS from stealing your ride

I am a honest person and would never steal any ones ride

I have been given many abandoned vehicles of all makes because I can tow them away. I have learned how break into vehicles and to get past ignition locks with ease.

this ignition lock would not stop a person like me from stealing anything and there are a lot of people with similar knowledge out there.

it will only stop idiots from stealing a ride

Kledus. I appreciate your knowledge thanks:) let's think stealing a ride by driving is what most "jackers" they hop in and go straight for the ignition switch. It's quick. I personally can give my experience with tow jacking.... years ago while sitting in my A body drinking a beer a tow truck driver drives by and backs up. Hops out comes to my car slams the hood demanding I back my car up to his truck. Long story short the police said because he never hooked up that I couldn't press charges.:-(

I always thought a hidden ignition/fuel cutout was the best route to prevent theft. Even if they broke column and got it to crank, it still wouldn't start. I can't remember last time I took keys out of one of my trucks, just flip a hidden switch and leave them. Of course most are parked behind a locked gate or in a locked building now but still it's the little things that screw with the thevies.

I always leave my keys in mine. It's the cheapest vehicle I have, and I'd rather somebody just get in it and go rather come inside and try to kill me for my keys.

It also helps that my exhaust is loud enough it rattles all the windows in the house when it's started, and I could probably make it outside before they ever got out of the driveway.

I use my auto page alarm starter kill wiring with a relay to kill power to my ignition coil :) this column lock is more for a visual deterrent :) side note I've never heard our experienced you're having till I came to tx. Ok was just about to go get another beer, but something said just chill. Good thing I did cause the car would of been gone in the wind lol

They wouldn't get very far at 60mph before I got in one of my other vehicles and caught up with them. And there's never much gas in the 85. Dipshit kids like to siphon it, so I never put very much in it.
